Town of Barnstable Awarded Seaport Economic Council Grant
The Town of Barnstable was recently awarded a $379,000 grant from the Massachusetts Seaport Economic Council for Hyannis Inner Harbor infrastructure improvements. Improvements include replacing fixed timber docks with floating concrete docks, upgrading timber piles to steel, raising the bulkhead for resiliency, adding electric meters for streamlined billing, improving commercial offloading, enhancing pedestrian safety and accessibility, maintenance dredging and other related upgrades. This work will improve recreational and commercial boating infrastructure at Bismore Park Marina and nearby docks.
Proposed Zoning Amendments to be Reviewed by Barnstable Town Council
The Barnstable Town Council will be reviewing six proposed zoning amendments at their next meeting on Thursday, January 29th starting at 6pm. Proposed amendments include changes to the town’s Home Occupation and Commercial Vehicle Parking ordinances, as well as four proposed changes to zoning in downtown Hyannis. 10th Annual Youth Job Fair
The Barnstable Youth Commission is excited to share that the 10th Annual Barnstable Youth Job Fair will take place on Wednesday, March 4, and we still have plenty of room for businesses to participate. This event is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to connect with motivated young job-seekers (ages 14–18).

Town of Barnstable 2026 Tourism Mini-Grant Program
The Town of Barnstable will once again be offering its Tourism Mini-Grant program in 2026. The Tourism Mini-Grant Program is designed to support the Town’s seven villages in promoting new or existing events and festivals to draw visitors to the Town of Barnstable. All civic associations and nonprofit organizations within the Town of Barnstable that produce and market events to visitors and/or provide visitor services are eligible to apply. Program details are expected to be released in February. If your organization has received a Tourism Mini-Grant in the past, please ensure that a Final Report is completed in order to maintain eligibility for the 2026 program.
