Business Builds Capital Grant Program
The Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development’s Business Builds Capital Grant Program is a competitive funding initiative to support for-profit business expansion and private investment in the state. The program provides capital reimbursement grants to businesses expanding or relocating operations in Massachusetts facilities and requires a dollar-for-dollar (50/50) match from the applicant. Awards are expected to range from $500,000–$2,000,000. Applications must be made through MA Business Front Door and are due by October 1, 2026.
Downtown Hyannis Streets Two-Way Conversion

Hyannis District Improvement Financing Program
The Downtown Hyannis District Improvement Financing Program was approved by Town Council on October 24, 2024. A District Improvement Financing (DIF) Program enables a municipality to identify and capture an anticipated stream of local property tax revenues expected to be generated by new development in a designated district.
This program will fund projects in Downtown Hyannis in the following categories:
- Public infrastructure improvements (sidewalks, water infrastructure, broadband, etc.)
- Placemaking/beautification projects (upgrades to public spaces, streetlights, etc.)
- Storefront improvement grants for existing small businesses
- Arts and culture projects
A Hyannis DIF Advisory Committee was recently established to provide guidance on oversight for the program. This committee consists of town councilors from the downtown Hyannis precincts, Hyannis residents and business owners, and representatives from other town committees. The committee met for the first time on September 1, 2026 and a video of their discussions can be found here.
